Today was Emma's class field trip to the Christmas Tree Farm. Emma did not want to go.
"But Emma, it's going to be so much fun. There's going to be lots of trees and we're going on a hayride."
"So, hayrides are boring. They go too slow, I want to go fast."
So it's time to drive to the farm and one of Emma's classmates, Carson, rides in our car with us. As soon as he gets in he notices my radar detector. "What's that thing?", he says.
"It tells my mommy where the police officers are so she can drive fast."
"Cool, are we going to drive fast?" Can't wait for his mom to hear about this conversation!
We get to the farm, after driving the legal speed limit, thank you.
"Mom, these trees are boring, they don't have any decorations. This place stinks." I try to explain to her that this is where trees are grown and people come cut them down and take them home to decorate. Really she could care less.

On to the hayride. The nice lady that works at the farm is giving us a tour. She stops at various places along the way to explain how the trees are planted, how they take care of them, BLAH BLAH BLAH... They are four, really they could care less. HAY FIGHT!On with the hayride, and at the exact moment that all of the other four-year olds have a moment of silence, my precious daughter yells out, "Mom this is really boring. Can't she drive this tractor any faster?" Yes, disapproving glances from the other moms. Can I help it if my kid is right?
At the end they got to run through a really cool wooden maze. And yes, they went fast!
