Can you believe how fast time flies by? Yesterday she was a precious angel who didn't sleep at night, and today she is a precious angel who doesn't sleep at night!
The day started out with a Christmas play at school, in which Emma was an angel. She did a very good job. Kathryn however wanted to be the star of the show. She waited until just the right moment of complete silence during the show...
"Ready, count with me, uno, dos, tres, cuatro", at the top of her lungs! Yes, same moms, same disapproving glances. By the way that little number was brought to you courtesy of Dora the Explorer.
We went out to the local Japanese grill for birthday dinner with Granny and Poppy. That's what Emma wanted, a girl after her mother's stomach! Now I have been to quite a few of these establishments, and I have to tell you, our cook was a nut! I have never met a Hispanic hibachi chef so obsessed with fire and throwing food at people. He wanted to throw some zucchini in my mouth but we all know what I said to that...
We came home stuffed, and decided to have cake. Emma opened her presents and the pink gameboy was a huge success!! In fact I haven't seen or heard from her since she opened it. She also got a vanity table for her room for all her primping. We all know how much of a princess she can be!
Happy Birthday Emma!

Emma,
We hope you had a GREAT birthday - and we are so glad you are FIVE!
Love, Ben & Madeline
Emma looks just precious! Watch out with the Game Boy...step two is this... Jack got one for this birthday in August and this week he wrote, "Dear Santa please bring me (and listed four things for himself and the fifth was...)and a Game Boy for my Daddy." It is his goal for the two of them to "hook up" and play each other. Amy, needing any fine motor skill practice? You are next!
