Once upon a time there was a Queen and her four princesses. While 3 of the princesses were off at school receiving their royal education, the Queen and the youngest embarked on a quest for a pink gameboy. The GameBoy was needed for Princess Emma's 5th birthday.
The first stop on the quest was the kingdom of far and away Pottery Barn. The Queen knew there would be no gameboy there, but she needed to make sure she got candles for the princesses' tutors and they had to be better than anything purchased by any other Queens. Then the adventure begins...
They traveled in their trusty, blue steed over mountains and valleys to the wonderful land of Target. There they traversed miles of aisles picking up various trinkets of crap along the way. They reached the treasure trove where the fabled pink gameboy was said to exist, but alas it was not there!
So they went to the neighboring kingdom of Bed, Bath and Beyond where once again the Queen knew there was no gameboy, but she had a coupon for 20% off and desperately wanted a sandwich maker. At this point the young princess had discarded both her glass slippers and threw her crown (bow) on the floor several times. The Queen handed her the golden chalice of milk to keep her happy and quiet.
After departing the kingdom of BBB, they set off once again on their quest. Over the vast ocean of 1960 they traveled at lightning speed (princess Emma's lessons were almost up). Along the way the young princess insisted upon watching Sesame Street Christmas Carol for the 100th time, but anything to avoid a royal tantrum! They arrived at the Realm of Toys R Us. There the Queen and the princess had to fight through the masses of other Queens on their own various quests. They reached the 16 year old Wizard of Technology. "Oh kind Wizard, does the fabled Pink Gameboy reside here?" The Wizard replied," We have had many, but alas they are all gone."
The Queen was disheartened. Whatever would she do now? She asked the Wizard to contact the neighboring kingdoms to see if the elusive gameboy was anywhere to be found. The princess started her royal tantrum and the Queen reached for the golden chalice of milk, only to realize it had been left in the kingdom of BBB. Feeling frustrated the Queen had decided to give up on her quest. But on the horizon, a white night appeared! The DHL delivery man with a new shipment, could a pink gameboy be there? Yes there it was! The gameboy was purchased and off they went.
They had one final stop. The Queen is hosting a gala tomorrow night and needed to get a refreshing beverage. She went in, bought the elixir, and was not carded, even though the sign clearly stated "We ID everyone who appears 30 or under". The Queen was NOT amused.
All the Princesses were home, and a meal fit for a King was prepared. Afterwards it was time to help the young princesses with their studies, draw the royal baths and straighten up the castle. Apparently the servants were missing, so it was up to the Queen. The King did help too!
It was the young princess's bedtime, but the royal blanket was nowhere to be found. A new quest was under way! All the subjects of the castle searched high and low, for the princess could not sleep without her blankie. After searching for hours it seemed, the Queen found the blanket in the deepest, darkest dungeon (stuffed underneath the TV armoire)! So the princess fell asleep, awaiting a magical kiss to wake her in the morning.
And now the Queen is off to bed, and there had better not be a damn pea under her mattress, because she is beat!
The End
