American Ballpark Tour: Busch Stadium

Remember that MasterCard commercial a few years back where two buddies got in their beat up car and traveled across the USA to take in ballgames at all the stadiums?? When I saw that I thought what a cool idea and how fun would that be? And how lucky is my husband to have a wife that loves baseball so much that she is willing to make ballparks the focus of her vacations?

Well this trip is the start of it all. Don't know if it will take us five years or twenty, but we are on our way!! Saturday night, after all our traveling, we went to Busch Stadium to watch the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Milwaukee Brewers. We took a horse drawn carriage from our hotel down to the park and that was a lot of fun! Perhaps I am a little partial, but Minute Maid kicks Busch's ass!!

Maybe we didn't give it a fair shake because we had a long day or because we had standing room only tickets. Maybe not. The stadium was dark and dreary. The kids area SUCKED! The girls did take a few swings in the batting cages.

We walked all around the ballpark just taking it in, catching glimpses of the game here and there. It was a pretty field and the Jumbotron system they had was very cool. But nothing blew me away. Especially not the World Series Champions banners. There is no detection of jealousy there. None.

But I am very glad we went and got to experience it. And now our tour has begun and we are so excited!! Well Steven and I are. The girls probably will have their fill of pretzels and hot dogs after Thursday when we go to Cleveland. But too bad, because there will still be 27 ballparks left to go!
